1. Information We Collect

• Account information: name, email, and business details you provide when signing up
• Social media account connections: when you connect your Instagram Business account, we receive and store an access token that allows us to publish content on your behalf, along with your Instagram username and account ID
• TikTok account connection: when you connect your TikTok account, we receive and store an access token and refresh token that allow us to publish videos on your behalf, along with your TikTok basic profile information (open ID, display name, and avatar). We request the user.info.basic scope (to identify your account) and the video.publish scope (to post videos you approve).
• Content data: campaign details, generated captions, and images created through our platform
• Usage data: how you interact with our dashboard, for the purpose of improving our service

2. How We Use Your Information

• To operate the ClevPost service, including generating and publishing marketing content to your connected social media accounts
• To communicate with you about your account and our service
• To improve and maintain the platform

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:

• Meta/Instagram, to publish content you've approved to your connected account
• TikTok, to publish videos you've approved to your connected TikTok account
• AI service providers (including Anthropic Claude), for generating marketing content
• Service providers (Supabase for data storage, Vercel for hosting) who process data solely to operate our platform

4. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your account and connection data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data unless we're legally required to retain certain information.

5. Your Rights

You may disconnect your social media accounts at any time from your dashboard. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting us at support@clevpost.com.

6. Cookies

We use essential cookies and similar technologies to maintain secure sessions and improve the functionality of the platform.

7. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your data, including secure authentication (via Clerk) and access controls on our systems. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we continually work to improve our security practices.

8. International Data Transfers

Some of our service providers (including our hosting and infrastructure partners) may process data outside your country of residence. We take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for such transfers.

9. Instagram/Meta Platform Data

Any data obtained through Instagram's API is used solely to provide the publishing features you've requested and is handled in accordance with Meta's Platform Terms and Developer Policies.

10. TikTok Platform Data

Any data obtained through TikTok's API is used solely to provide the features you've requested — identifying your connected account and publishing videos you approve — and is handled in accordance with TikTok's Developer Terms of Service and Community Guidelines. We access only your basic profile (open ID, display name, avatar) and the ability to publish videos on your behalf; we do not access your private videos, messages, or followers. You can revoke ClevPost's access at any time by disconnecting TikTok from your ClevPost dashboard, or from Manage app permissions in your TikTok account settings. Upon disconnection or account deletion, we delete the stored TikTok access and refresh tokens.
